Dowdens Pumping & Water Treatment holds a golf day each year to booster relationships with our suppliers. This year’s event, held on the 11th of August at Hamilton Island Golf Club on Dent Island turned on the weather once again with a beautiful warm sunny day greeting the golfers.
A great time was had by all with the hospitality showed by the staff at the Hamilton Island Golf Club, a valued customer, first class as expected.
We would like to thank our suppliers Davey Pumps (Paul Hobbs & Darren Wiltshire), Philmac (Gil Van Milt, Dave McCully), Iplex Pipelines (Tony Hart), Bermad Water Technologies (Russ Dunn) and C2H Piping Services (Dale Stephen) who kindly sponsored the event. We look forward to their support at next year’s event.
Dave Dowden had surprise in store with a visit from rugby league legend Allan 'Alfie' Langer, who just happened to be visiting Mackay for another event.
Alfie, originally from Ipswich, played 25 test matches for Australia, 260 matches and won 4 premierships for the Brisbane Broncos with an amazing 69%-win ratio, was a Dally M and Clive Churchill medal winner and made 34 appearances for Queensland in the State of Origin.
Probably, he is most remembered for his stunning return in game 3 of the 2001 Origin Series, leading Queensland to a 40-14 triumph over the NSW Blues and winning the series 2-1. A true legend of the game. Alfie had a great day as can be attested by the photos, and we truly appreciated having him with us.
As Queensland's leading pumping and water treatment organisation, Dowdens Pumping & Water Treatment have the capabilities and expertise to provide our customers with purpose engineered solutions, which ensure greater productivity and market advantage.
